Q: Will meditating bring down my high blood pressure?
A: Meditation on a regular basis can help lower blood pressure. Meditation helps relieve stress. Unfortunately, many people stop meditating when they need it most, when they are busy and stressed. I have heard that the Resperate can be quite effective in helping people quickly achieve their desired level of meditation.
” I have heard that the Resperate can be quite effective in helping people quickly achieve their desired level of meditation.”
Really? The Doctor has never tried something and is recommending it due to being paid by the company. Sounds strangely familiar to the drug problem in this country.
Since this is a non invasive devise, it is a head scratcher why this Doctor who is supposed to be an expert has never tried it.
I bought the Resparate. I already understood the principle so it helped me review my technique I practiced in music ed/voice. I now can do it at will. So I gave mine to my daughter. I don’t monitor her, she’s an adult and private. If I were a young parent, I definitely would monitor my kids with it. It’s perfect!! I only used music for dancing and therefore I didn’t know how to belly breathe. I was 70YO when I took music ed/voice and learned how to do this. It’s very hard to break old habits. My voice prof told me she noticed I simply do not breathe when I sing. That’s all because I held my stomach in as a dancer.
“Doctor” Rowena’s answers get curiouser and curioser……..and of less value all the time.
She has “heard” that????!!!!
Why don’t you get a credible doctor on board who has a wellness aproach, and some knowledge and experience with these issues clinically, Resperate?!?!
I am using the resperate for the last 5 months and must say it does have an effect on my pressure. I just did my yearly check ups and my Doctor was quite happy with my readings. To me its worth the investment as you are investing in a small amount for your life. The key is consistently using it…15 minutes every day cannot kill you.
Dr. Rowena, how in the world can you promote a device without investigating it first hand?
The device does work by the way. But to say “you’ve heard” is not the kind of praise one uses when doing what you are doing with this newsletter.
Medication is far to prevalent in your field as a primary use to lower BP. Meditation is key and the Resperate device is a great way to introduce someone to the experience.
Please consider how you are interacting with readers. Your credibility is at risk here.
Doctors will not recommend anything that does not keep patients from coming back to them and buying drugs from drug companies. Thats how capitalism/free market work. The more they gouge people the better.
Let’s see. She doesn’t think supplements are beneficial and basically called them all quackery. Never mind the books published about the benefits of magnesium supplementation to blood pressure by other doctors, and dozens of other examples. She says medical marijuana is not legal in the United States, so she clearly doesn’t know that California is part of the United States, or that medical marijuana dispensaries are so common that they have become a nuisance and crime problem in California. Now, she has “heard” that Resperate’s claims have validity? Why do I read this again? Is her Doctorate degree in Economics (where nothing is certain)?
Will using Medforin increase blood pressure?
Meditation is not effective in short time. It is a long time but very effective system. It sets right not only your BP, but keeps your mind undisturbed. So your nerves are not under stress. It relieves the pressure on your nervous system. Never expect quick results from meditation.Actually one can not have proper meditation experience in short time. It takes sometimes a year or two to be on the right path. One should not depend on it solely in initial stages. Medicine must accompany during the transition period. Observation of a doctor is also must during this period. It is not achieved by persons with hectic life style or behaviour. So it does not give same results for every one. Still one must try it patiently. It gives altogether a very satisfying results in one’s life.
I tried the ResPeRate and it lowered my blood pressue in about l0 days from l40 down to 125. I think there is something to it.
Why doesn’t resperate also use a naturopath that doesn’t use pills to tell readers how to lower high bp that runs in the family with slow breathing and specific plant foods or supplements such as fish oil, COQ10, pomegranate extract, brown rice, blueberries, celery stalks, and other means that don’t require prescriptions? Meditation emphasis especially, and low-salt for the salt-sensitive?
Where are the naturopaths with MDs on this site? Mediation for us retirees is helpful. Our lives aren’t hectic, and we have all the time available to practice Earthing and Grounding, meditation, and take green vegetable juices instead of caffeine.
I’m wishing Resperate will be available in the Philippines.
I tried Resperate for several weeks to lower my high blood pressure and though it was a pleasant experience it seemed to have no effect at all. This was despite the fact that my breathing rate went down below 5 breaths per minute.I also got no effect from meditating either but maybe, as Vijay Walia says, one has to keep at it long term.
Incidentally, I don’t think it helps to consider all orthodox doctors to be money-grabbing crooks or that things would be better if we didn’t live under a capitalist system – tell that to survivors of the Soviet regime.
When asked about Resperate, my doctor said that he heard of it but had no opinions about its use and that I should not drop my high blood pressure medicine.
