Q: Does pomegranate juice help reduce blood pressure?
A: Pomegranates contain antioxidants which are thought to help with blood pressure. Fresh fruit is a part of a heart healthy diet. Pomegranates are a good fruit choice to eat or drink juice from, but are pricey.
I am not aware of any significant scientific studies which have proven that drinking a specific amount of pomegranate juice will lower pressure in people.
More information on the benifits of pomegrantes on high blood pressure:
I drank already 60 bottles of Pomegranate juice in past 6 months but my pressure still same high. Now I am taking meds for pressure treatment. Dont waste money on this..
one bottle costs $10
It’s not pomegranate juice that’s full of fruit sugars and water….It’s pomegranate seed extract and pomegranate leaf extract also as well as the fruit itself. You get this from a softgel, such as those sold by Life Extension. Also, some experiments/studies used S.O.D. with pomegranate whole extract–includes the seeds, leaves, etc.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news again for the “good doctor”, however, there are studies which conclude that pomegranate does lower systolic blood pressure by inhibiting serum angiotensin-enzyme activity (ACE inhibitor). Indeed, pomegranate is one of the supplements that I use to control my hypertension naturally. If you try to become aware, the information is there. Among other references and studies, you could take a look at the following:

It is really good news that pomegranate juice lowers systolic blood pressure.Lowering systolic blood pressure is necessary for the elderly.
I would like to know the quantity of the juice to be drunk each day ( or more importantly, number of the fruit(s)) to be effective. I would also like to know how soon you can observe the result.
i was prescribed malformin and got s stroke one of the side effects of this drug so to all who is reading stay away from these white coat prescription they are killers.my mom was a casualty of this too. wake up
I can appreciate the passion that a lot of people have around the health of their loved ones — particularly when medical interventions fail. But calling doctors “white coat prescription… killers” is way over the top. They have little reason to be arrogant — many flunked that part of med school — but murder is not commonly on their minds.
I’ve never met Dr Sobczyk but I’m quite certain she does not merit your description, even remotely.
In addition I have taken cartia XT 300mg for years and now all of a sudden it has been discontinued and the generic diltiazem (which my body does not respond to)seems to be all that is available. Is this because there is a factor of cartia that has been left out of the generic
