Q: Do headaches accompany high blood pressure?
A: High blood pressure is not associated with symptoms until you are getting into trouble. Sudden onset headaches, headaches that awaken you from sleep and a change in frequency or severity of chronic headaches should be evaluated by a doctor.

Pulsing Headaches wake me up at night, sometimes hourly. During the day I often got a general headache and nausea, sometimes a sharp pain to my right eye. A neurologist put me on an anti seizure medication. I consulted an eye doctor who found it infected. The sharp pain went away but not the headaches. I’ve had a CAT scan, MRI, MRA, MRV of head and neck. The neurologist wanted to do a spinal tap. At present I usually awake only once during the night. I have been monitoring the night episodes with an event monitor of the heart.
