Q: I am now 69 years and have been on medication since 1998 due to a stroke after having high BP 8 to 10 years. The medication involves 6 different pills for thinning the blood, increase the volume of the veins, reduce the bad cholesterol LDL, including others. The Betablocs destroys my sex life and was taken away last year. After the 2 first years in the beginning I experienced growing of one of my testicles. I am told this isn’t dangerous – no cancer. Question is, Is this due to the medication?
A: You did not list the names of the drugs you take. Different drugs, especially in combination, can cause unusual side effects. It is not clear whether you had a growth on your testicle or had a swelling of the testicle. The causes for these conditions are different. I suggest you discuss the problem with your testicle further with your doctor.

I am sorry to hear that you are having all these problems. The drugs that you are on all have toxic effects on your body, even though you may actually need some of them.
As a layman, not a doctor, I have found many natural ways and therapies to improve the conditions that you talk about. For example, red yeast rice, either alone or in combination with policosanol and niacin, has allowed people to reduce LDL and increase HDL even beyond what the toxic statins can do. Thorne Research produces a time release L-argine, Perfusia-SR, that has helped many people soften and expand blood vessels. EECP is a therapy that also can expand and relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure. These are just the beginning, and there is a lot more that might be helpful to someone like you. Unfortunately, you will likely not learn any of these things from a medical doctor who toes the AMA line. You might consider a comprehensive trip to somewhere like the Whitaker Wellness Center where the medical doctors offer a broader array of helpful therapies, including natural and less toxic options – then decide for yourself what future directions you want to take with your health.
