Q: I am taking Linisol for high blood pressure in the morning per my doctor. It made me drowsy for driving and office work so now started taking before bed. Is it ok to adjust on my own?
A: Changing the time of day when you take medication can help control side-effects. Since your drug made you sleepy, it was reasonable to start taking it at bedtime. The important thing is to consistently take your medicine about the same time of day so you establish a constant level in your blood. Advise your doctor of the change at your next visit.
in the mean time try and improve your diet, lose weight, exercise to lower BP so you can get off the drugs.I was able to get off half the drugs the doctors had over medicated me with . I am still stuck with calcium channel blockers and when I try and cut back I have all kinds of bowel problems. They won’t tell you the long time bad effects these drugs may have on you. I am supposed to see a stomach doctor in a few weeks. good luck
“Lisinopril” is a poison. Google it and see the voluminous bad side effects people are experiencing, inc. severe allegeric reactions. I did & stopped it immediately, it was making me catatonic. It should be banned but Big Pharma runs our govt!

I am on Hyperium, what advice do you have for me?
@Joe…I am sorry to hear that you’ve experienced such bad side-effects. I was just started on Lisinopril a few months ago because 10mg of HCTZ was not working. So, I’m on a combination of Lisinopril/HCTZ 5mg/6mg. Initially the doctor went right to 10mg/12mg and I thought I was dying. So, he cut the dose in half.Yes, I felt catatonic too….it felt like a really bad hangover from my college days. However, I gave it a few more days for the medicine to adjust to my system because my blood pressure was 150 – 170/ 90 before the med., so for a recommended B.P. of 110/60 is something I’ve never seen since childhood. Anyway, I feel 100 percent better than I did with the HBP on the medicine….I exercise more, eat better, and lost weight.Genetics play more of a factor than my weight as per MD. I lost 17 pounds – 131 lbs, (10 lbs.away from marriage weight), from 148lbs.Anyway, which medicine would you recommend that has less harmful side effects.
I would visit the doctor as soon as possible and ask for advice! If you get drowsy while driving you are running the risk of causing a car accident. May be the dosage needs to be adjusted or the medication changed. Also, as Jerry Cooke mentioned, try lifestyle changes too, if lifestyle could contribute to your high blood pressure.
Been taking blood pressure since I’m 42 about 4 yrs ago it went so high I had to go to the hosp… I am now 77.. I am seeing a patern now.My medication will start having a bad effect about 4 months after I take it.. Sick, and the pressure starts to go up higher 225/120..even the Drs. didn’t know why this was happening. After 4 times in the hospital over these past 4 yrs.. I thought it was the Medication .. Now I am realizing that my body starts to reject the medication and gets me violently ill.. When they give me a different medication I think it’s solved .. But here we go again .I am heading to the Dr. this morning for a new medication… Have you heard of this happening to anyone else? Thanks
Exactly what I have been going through! I started medication about two years ago and am now on my sixth medication. Sometimes I just feel like giving the whole thing all up. It is so depressing.
I have not heard of that happening. Here is a thought although I really do not know the answer. Could it be possible that the medications build up in your system and when it reaches a certain level then it makes you sick? I do know you can be ok with a medication and then develop a kind of allergy to it at a later time.
I am 57 ,yrs old From last three yrs THE doctor Advise Medicine Tablet Inderal 10mg three tim A DAY,LAST ONE MONTH my blood pressure high 170/90 so then i consut to another he advised me eett, echo test so i done and these are negative, now he advised me some medicine tab corbis 5mg and tab ,loprin75 once a day
I think it likely that there is a build up of reactions over some time. I’ve been taking various bp pills for years. Last year I got terrible pains in my legs and could hardly walk. I changed the pills and the pain eventually went. Now I have worse effects – fainting and blackouts every few months. The side effects of pills are potentially horrendous – look at the list. But what’s the alternative?
All above people, have you tried herb medicine called Muktavati? It can work for you without the terrible side effects with the proper dose and lower lower your BP effectively.
