Q: I am managing to control my blood pressure by using RESPeRATE and taking supplements. One supplement I take is COQ10. I also take a low dose aspirin daily as a blood thinner to protect against stroke. I recently learned that COQ10 also has the effect of thinning the blood. Should I be concerned about taking both aspirin and COQ10?
A: You should only be taking aspirin if it has been recommended by your doctor. There is a real risk of serious bleeding with long term aspirin so only certain people benefit from taking aspirin. It is not clear that Coenzyme Q10 is associated with an increased risk of bleeding. I suggest you make an appointment with your doctor to fully understand your risk for heart disease and determine the best preventive measures. For more information about side effects of Coenzyme Q10 go to this page on the U.S. National Library of Medicine site.
That was an excellent answer! The drug companies will try to scare anyone and they are using the “take aspirin to prevent stroke” advertising campaign to do it.
If you want to get an Ulcer and require even more medication then daily aspirin use is the way to go!
Don’t put to much weight on what your doctor advises on taking aspirin. do your own research,I did! I went to three different doctors over a period of 2 years. One doctor told me to take an aspirin every day just for safety. Doctor number 2 told me an aspirin a day was to much and advised me to just take a baby aspirin. Doctor number three told me I didn’t need to take any aspirin as my cholesterol was low(139) my HDL was good (40) and my blood pressure was under good control.I now take no aspirin.
Aspirin is not as benign as it seems. Better to keep your blood thin with garlic/fish oils/diet etc.
Aspirin is over rated. Uf you want to thin you blood naturally, eat “black fungus”, a chinese food that is found in old style mushi pork. Its Chinese name is “clouds ear” you can find it in any oriental grocery store. It has been proven to thin the blood., Goole it. Soak a few twigs in water, then cook, or eat raw with every meal. It has no taste. I gave some to some one with severe heart problems, his doctor said after a few months of use, his blood is more than he hoped for when he first strted seeing him 5 years ago. I also recommended it to a co worker. she could not take the mofin precribed to her for a blood clot in her leg. After a month of use, the clot is gone and she had not taken any medications.
The dr here said eat the food the has what you need, not the supplement. Black fungus is a food. This comes in several different varieties, but they all work.
I visited your blog while searching about asprin side effects. I am impressed with your answer.no doubt it is useful for people…Thanks for sharing

Stay on resperate an one scope of l-arginine plus a day an you will be great. Buy this over the internet an this is the best product. I was extremely high an now very low blood pressure with this regimine. IT WORKS.
Cheryl, I was on lotrel too and it made me feel horrible and my BP didn’t improve much. It still spiked when I was stressed or went to the Dr and then ran about 130/85 at home. My cardiologist took me off and now I’m on nothing and my BP is 125/78!I feel so much better! I take CoQ10 and low dose aspirin. That’s it!!
better than aspirin is taking fish oil/garlic/E/magnesium.
Personally, I had to quit taking COQ10, as I noticed it really spikes my blood pressure within an hour after I take it. I threw the rest of the bottle away. My blood pressure is much better without it.
