(Prevention)
High blood pressure is one of the most preventable conditions.
But it plays a contributing role in more than 15% of deaths in the United States, according to a new Harvard study. Although it causes no symptoms, high blood pressure boosts the risks of leading killers such as heart attack and stroke, as well as aneurysms, cognitive decline, and kidney failure. 28% of Americans have high blood pressure and don’t know it, according to the American Heart Association. If you haven’t had yours checked in 2 years, see a doctor.
While medication can lower blood pressure, it may cause side effects such as leg cramps, dizziness, and insomnia. Fortunately, most people can bring down their blood pressure naturally without medication. First, get to a healthy weight (check out these 100 Simple Ways To Lose Weight for ideas). Then try these strategies to reduce the risk of heart disease.
I like that one about work a bit less. I am sure our bosses will go along with that.
I am 64 years old and the demands of the job are the worse they have been my whole career. These people that come up with these suggestions must live on a desert island somewhere.
I am 68, soon to be 69 and just cut back to 4 days a week, after working 53 years…..It has been the very best thing I have done for me, ever….I have been on BP meds, for 6 months, have started walking regularly, losing extra pounds, have started meditating every day, deep breathing, and Doc says keep it up and I should be off the meds by summer. I feel wonderful and simply told my employer that I have everything SO under control, that I can get it done in 4 days….saves him money and he went for it. I am the collection department manager for a mid size corp. overseeing 28 locations and all collections for the company.High stress job to meet the numbers expected, type A personality and lots of personal responsibility. Perfect recipe for high BP, but it is controlable!

I am not obese dont smoke, actually obesity has nothing due with high blood pressure i know people over 400lbs and smoke and have readings of a 16year kid.tryed everypill on the market nothing works i let nature takes it course
Dear Dennis,
We agree, of the 13 ways to lower blood pressure, working less is probably the most difficult – if not impossible – strategy to follow especially considering how many economies are struggling today. The good thing is that the article presents 12 other strategies to choose from to help reduce high blood pressure naturally.
The great thing about living healthy is that there is a strategy for everyone and their lifestyle. There is actually more options than those listed in the article. For example, Resperate.com is FDA cleared to help reduce high blood pressure naturally and all that one has to do is sit back and breath for about 15 minutes regularly for about 1 – 2 months to start seeing results and feeling better.
We hope this was helpful?
All the best,
From the LowerPressure Team

Grace, I am allergic to most meds and am interested in learning more about Moringa leaf. Can you tell me what form you use (capsules, tea, ?) and what brand and where you get it? Thank you!
please tell me more on Moringa leaf and where I can get it.
My husband and I read those tips together and both find them simple to follow except for working less since we have three kids to raise. I also find adequate sleep can help lower BP. I am 47 years old and have noticed a stead BP growth in the past 3 years. Last month my doctor advised me to take medication as my BP has passed 140/90 due to stress at work. Meanwhile, I had a sudden menopause which might also cause volatile blood pressure (normal in the morning but high at night after work). I find this website quite informative and appreciate all the tips for naturally lowering blood pressure.

Thank you for the 13 Ways to lower blood pressure.
I am 66 going to 67 and have retired since 2003. I developed high blood pressure as a result of work pressure in 1999 and have since then been on medication. My BP rose astronomically to 230/190 in October 2012 and was placed on Lisinopril. The reading has dropped to 125/75 today. I shall go back to eating Moringa when I return to Nigeria soon since I have it in my compound.

The natural approach works folks. If I can do it, anybody can. 228/125 before meds and then diet and exercise plus a few supplements has me at 117/64 a little over a year later and NO MEDS! Persistence and commitment will get the job done.
Thank you for educating us on blood pressure.

I use supplements from FLP in addition to the 13 ways. Morringa and Pink potatoes abundant in Nigeria are exellent. My blood pressure has been down to 125/60. Moringa leaf can de use frsh as vegetable for cooking or used as tea after drying indoor. Samuel Ojo i which you luck. Thanks to Lower Pressure Team
