Q: I took Aleve for several months at a high dose for dental issues. I now have had two high readings of my blood pressure. I am no longer taking Aleve. Will my blood pressure reduce on its own, or do I need medication to reduce it?
A: The effect of the Aleve on your blood pressure should have worn off one to two days after stopping the drug. If it has been longer than that, I suspect you did not realize you had high blood pressure before you started your dental work. High blood pressure is sneaky. It does not have symptoms until you are getting into trouble.
i have been using aleve for a few weeks also my presure feels like it’s way up i will take my meds when i get home did’t know aleve raised your presure
I take Motrin daily for back pain and I am on BP medicine for HTN. The other day I was at the doctors for pre op Clearance and my BP was erratic going from 189/139, so the doc increased my BP meds 2days ago. Today my BP is still high at 188/139 & 188/111.
Is the Motrin a contributor?
