Q: Does blood pressure elevate whenever a woman ovulates?
A: According to studies done in the 90’s, blood pressure in women with normal blood pressure does not go up with ovulation. Blood pressure is highest at the time of menstruation. Several small studies showed blood pressure increases with ovulation in hypertensive women with low levels of a specific kidney enzyme.
AM HYPERTENSIVE, HAD A MINOR STROKE ALMOST FOUR MONTHS AGO,THANK GOD FOR HIS BLESSINGS OF LIFE..BUT EVER SINCE THEN WHENEVER I TAKE MY BLOOD PRESSURE MEASUREMENT @ HOME MY PRESSURE IS ALWAYS HIGH, DURING MENSTURATION TO…DATS WHY I ASKED THIS QUESTION TO U..THE ANS. IS OKAY FOR ME…BUT AM PUZZLED THOUGH I HAD MY KIDNEYS CHECKED TWICE AND I WAS TOLD EVERY THING OKAY…NOW AM READING SOMETHING ELSE ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE OF A LOW LEVEL OF A SPECIFIC KIDNEY ENZYME WHAT DOES DAT MEAN?
What is the specific kidney enzyme and does it show up on a kidney function test? I had a baby 6 months ago and have found that my blood pressure has gotten dangerously high a few times. It seems to happen around ovulation, luteal phase.
