I think what he/she wanted to know is during a heart attack or stroke will you pressure rise or fall?? Is the heart working harder during an attack or less? same with blockage causing stroke…am I right?

I have high blood pressure and foolishly forgot to take medication. On top of that, I ate at a new In n Out burger place with a double-double plus fries. Went to work the next day and with a secondary bels palsy condition was walking at work and nootice by others. Fortunately, my boss immediately took me to the medical dispensary at work. They had a new EKG machine and said either I already had or was having a stroke. That was back in Feb 2010. spent six days in the hospital for observation and released. After resting on disability until May 2010, I went back to work. Since it was only a short TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack) I survived. After working through Nov 2010, I then decided to retire. I was very lucky.
Must add my BP was up to 200/160 during the episode. Normally at a milder 140/90.
My blood pressure varies from 90/50 to 160/70. Once, after getting lost in Boston trying to get to an appointment at Mass General, my BP was 199/99. I had a heart attack a couple of years later when under great stress. I don’t know what my BP was. The only symptom was pain in my hands. I had 6 bypasses. My bp now ranges from 90/50 to 135/65. What BP reading indicates heart attack or stroke?
I found the question interesting, but would like an better answer. I agree with Chris, will your blood preasure rise or fall during an event as compared to your daily “avarage or normal?

When I had my heart attack my blood pressure kept going up. The attack was due to blockages.
Prior to the event, our body will try its best to compensate by increasing pressure to provide adequate tissue perfusion. Depending upon which coronary artery is infarcted and whether or not collateral circulatory routes are able to compensate pressure may stay elevated. In a heart that is unable to compensate, blood fails to eject from the heart, so pressure drops. This is an ominous sign.
at one point during my heart attack, my blood pressure dropped dramatically, I was shocked, someting like 60 over 40 if I remember correctly. dr. said I had a “mini” attack with no long term effects.
My husband had a massive stroke which affected three major lobes of the left side of his brain. His blood pressure sky rocketed: up to approximately 240/140-160 (can’t remember the exact bottom number). It took hours at the hospital ER to get the blood pressure to become stable. Then, while in intensive care for a little over two weeks, it would sometimes drop a little below normal. The intent was then to gradually bring it back down to normal in order for the heart to adjust, rather than having it go from one extreme to another. So, they tried to maintain it slightly above normal for a few days. My husband, unfortunately, died due to complications with blood clots, as he was unable to be given blood thinners since he had bleeding in the brain which was being addressed and monitored. He also had atrial fibrilation, which often leads to strokes, as it causes blood clots to form in the heart. So, to answer the original question, in my husband’s case, the blood pressure rose considerably during and following his stroke. He had been suffering from high bp for a while, but he did not know he had atrial fibrilation, a major cause of strokes.

In 1987 I had a heart attack due to single coronary blockage after going up a single flight of stairs, and passed out for a couple of minutes. A few minutes after awakening, I began to experience an aching left elbow and a drop in blood pressure. Fortunately, I was in a hospital when this occurred and received almost immmediate heart attack aid and treatment to raise my blood pressure. I also recall the elbow pain would increase if my blood pressure again started to decrease, and the elbow pain would then decrease as my blood pressured was increased.

depends on your age, and if you have any medical conditions. It’s a little high, but not dangerously so. You can get it checked if you’d like, but just exercise and eat right. it’ll go down.
the 135 is not too high the 93 can be dangerous. The bottom number is the resting presure of your heart above 90 does not allow your heart to recieve the blood it need to stay healthy talk to your doctor.
