Q: My mum is currently controlling her blood pressure using antacand plus and carvedilol25mg.She has been having some burning sensations on her abdomen and along the thighs, could this be as a result of her blood pressure or the meds?
A: The burning sensation may be a side effect of her blood pressure medicines. She should discuss this with her doctor. Depending on how annoying she finds the sensation, her doctor may want to change her medication.
For a long time I have been experincing a severe burning sensation in my low back, groin and legs.#
However, when I go to bed or lie flat is subsides by about 80%. Otherwise I could not slepp!!. I am a type 2 diabetic and am taking Metformin 400mg daily.
For my pain I have been taking Pregabalin 400mg daily for some years now. Recent X-Rays and an MRI Scan show nothing. Can you suggest any thing to help me?

I have that same sensation. I take 32 mg of atacand, it always in my muscles. A burning sensation that feel like medicine burning when you are injected with a needle.
I have been fighting shingles for almost 3 years. I have been to 4 doc. that said it wasn’t shingles because they couldn’t see blisters. I had blisters on my face and didn’t know what they were, they finally healed up. Then came the buring sensation on my abdomen along with the pain under my bra. This has been going on for a bout 2 years. I finally started chiro treatment which helped some, but it didn’t go away. They never go away I have been told, they are always waiting to show up again.
At this time also I was under a great deal of stress, more then I have ever been in my life.
I have several friends who got the shingle shot and meds. and they are suffering as I am and I didn’t get the shot.
My chiro. told me of L-Lysine and told me how much to take. He said it wouldn’t cure it as there is no cure, however it did calm it down, which I am greatful for. I still have small blisters on my scalp that come and go.
My husband got them also and had no problems at all. No pain and only had a small circle of blisters.
We both went to the same skin doc. He told me I didn’t have them, he couldn’t see them. He told my husband he did, as he had a small patch. I was in the pain, shingle pain I call it and he laughed me off.
I am very greatful to the chiro who listened to me and led me to the L-Lysine.
The burning pain and the pain at my bra line is still there, but much calmed down. I do have a sharp stabbing pain that shoots through me at various locations, causing me to jump when it does. That is still there as well.
I hear it can last for years. Judy
