Q: How can I test to see the level if hypertension has effected my erectile dysfunction. Can it be reversed? If so what steps can I take to correct the problem?
A: Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to erectile problems. There is no magic level of high blood pressure where erectile dysfunction starts and below which cures the problem. Oftentimes it is a combination of problems, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, which leads to sexual dysfunction. You need to talk to your doctor.

I was diagnosed with hypertension about 9 years ago, as the result of a hypertensive stroke. Not only can elevated HBP cause ED the side effect of many of the drugs they use to treat HBP can can cause ED. Especialy if you use a combination of drugs. Other side effects are insomia, depression and more. Then many of the drugs they use to treat the depression, cause by the HBP drugs, also cause ED. I am dealing with all these side effects as I work to come off these horrible drugs and their deadly side effects. The doctors are quick to write their prescriptions to get you on the drugs but just try getting one to help you get off of them. They won’t take the time
I, too, had untreated HBP and no ED issues until I started taking meds. Now I have gotten used to them and the ED is no longer a problem for me. Nutrition and exercise play a key role as does finding a qualified MD that understands that not all BP issues are from boilerplate causes. Find an Osteopath instead, that is what I did, no regrets here!
Now I\’m like, well duh! Truly thanfkul for your help.
I have been put on, Verapamil; Metformin;Pravastatin and Lisinopril. Does this cause ED? I only have a half erictile
