A: In addition to taking blood pressure medicine, you are on thyroid medicine. It is easy to gain weight when your thyroid gland is not in balance. If you haven’t had your thyroid function checked lately, you should make an appointment with your doctor. Make sure you are storing your thyroid medication in a dry place. This helps maintain the potency of the drug. In addition, keep in mind that use of vitamins and antacids can block the absorption of thyroid medication.
