Q: Sometimes I will be going about my normal day and suddenly I will see spots floating in my eyes and my head will start pounding. This lasts for a while and as suddenly as it came, it is gone. Is this a blood pressure issue?
A: You need to see a doctor. Your symptoms are potentially very serious. You may have high blood pressure but typically symptoms don’t occur until a stroke or heart attack is about to happen.
I have had ‘floater’s’ in my eyes for years and they seem to come and go within rhyme or reason. I have hypertension, controlled by meds, and I still get spots in front of my eyes from time to time without for YEARS without any negative physical exams…….with headaches may however be a more serious issue as the doctor alluded to
I feel the same way at times. I also feel dizzy, my head feels funny, my head jerks at times. The doctor found out my potassium was critically low. I have going to doctors for months and still feel the same way. Any suggestions?
I have blurred vision which goes in and out of focus, also having headaches in the back of my head. My right foot is kind of tingling/numb near the toes and i am on lisinopril and corig. the doc says i have a weak left side of my heart, ejection fraction is 40 to 45%. I can hear my heartbeat sometimes in my head. feeling like this is driving me crazy. if i take a aspirin i feel a bit better, but i am afraid im gonna have a stroke, i had a angiogram and my heart arteries are clean, but that doesnt mean the others are. i also have like pain in my right leg at times
What a lousy answer. Scare the (bleep) out of a questioner and provide no reasoning for your answer. I’m a diabetic and have the same symptoms when my blood glucose reading is low. I’m sure her symptoms could be caused by a number of things, but not necessarily life threatening, as you’ve indicated.
I guess the concept of “better safe than sorry” escapes some people. Where did you get your PhD?
I have this problem sometime.I think it is difference in the blood circulation. This might be due medication or may be a heart problem or may be nothing significant.I have been a BP patient for more than 15 years seen many cardiologists and done all tests available in the world many times.Sometimes my BP shoots up.Then the medicine dosage has to be increased or a shift to a new drug.I am not a Doctor but an experienced patient.I have MVP,done EPS and RFA and been in Hospital many times.I have noticed that psychiatric drugs are highly effective in the treatment of BP.If it is Kidney problem or Brain/Hormone problem then the story is different.
this is cold hearted woman of a doctor?, nothing like right to the point, hope i’m never on my death bed with someone like her around, “your going to die pretty soon here, honey” anyway yes, you should see possibly an eye specialist, and don’t fear when you hear responses like dr. r. says.
Doctors stick together and shuttle patients to so called specialists for monetary gain. Spots in eyes could be a sign of dehydration as diuretics deplete the body of water. Some meds are diuretics
I have hypertension controlled by medication but occasionally have floaters and headaches. I have found that there is a relationship of these symptoms and the amount of sleep I get as well as the amount of computer screen time I spend. Glasses helped along with switching from CRT to LCD computer monitors. Dehydration also plays a roll in the headaches too. The fact that you say both symptoms come and go suddenly would be of concern and something you should talk to your doctor about.
It sounds like an aura to a migraine…And the migraine doesn’t have to be as bad as some get it…I get an aura first, (the spots, tunnel vision etc), then the headache comes…The aura last about 30 minutes to half hour…Bright light, change in atmosphere, can cause this to occur…Check with your doctor and see if he/she doesn’t think this is the cause…Good luck…OH and taking Vitamin B Complex really helps the aura and migraine from occurring…
I went to see an eye specialist a couple of days ago complaining of a blurred image in one of my eyes. They were floaters and nothing to worry about because he checked my eye pressure etc. and all was well. Sent me hope with some eye drops.
I am on bp medication and cyprimil for panic attacks are the flooters in my eyes related to these meds
Eye doctor told me that this could be part of high blood pressure that can lead to eye veins to swell or even pop.
so it is best to relax when this happens
