Q: Is there a correlation between lower blood pressure and higher Pulse rate?
A: Heart rate typically increases with activity but this should not cause high blood pressure. Heart rate does not correlate well with blood pressure. For more information go to this article on Heart.org.
I find a few hours after I walk that both my heart rate and blood pressure are lower. My Pulse is highest the first hour after I walk, Take in mind I live in North Carolina, the heat can be intense if I walk during the day. I drink three cups of water while walking my 2 1/2 to 3 miles.
I take my blood pressure and heart rate every morning (after exercise if I exercise). On mornings that I exercise, my blood pressure is noticeably lower, BUT my heart rate is slightly higer. On mornings that I do not exercise, my blood pressure is slightly higher, BUT my heart rate is lower. I do think that there is a correlation between blood pressure and heart rate. It is not huge, but it is there. Hope this helps!
