Q: I’m taking medicine (20mg) for high blood pressure but it still remains very high! The readings are always between 140/90 139/80. I started about 3 months ago and it never changed. Is there a problem with the medicine?
A: If I understand you correctly, this is the same blood pressure you had prior to starting medicine. Since your readings put you on the line where blood pressure needs to be treated, you might want to ask your doctor about using the Resperate and lifestyle changes instead of being switched to a different drug. Regular Resperate use may get your blood pressure into control without medication.
Clearly the medicine has not changed anything, but there are many different meds to lower BP and she could ask her doctor about these. Referral to the Resperate is a good idea because it might help without any medications and their side effects.
I have used the RESPERATE for about 3 years. My blood pressure has not improved. In fact at times it got worse.
I have had my resperate for about 2 years and not using it because the first time I used it my BP went up. I started using it this week and in two days my BP decresaed considerably from 206/105 to 142/92. I realized to get results I must purse my lips to breathe in and out. Pursing your lips makes your mouth very dry bu once you develop the technique it really works. Don’t give up on resperate it works.
Occasionally when I use my Resperate device in the evening my BP goes up and not down. What is that about?

I had the same problem until I got off animal products completely per Dr. Neal Bernard’s book on reversing diabetes, which in my case also did not respond to meds. An unexpected consequence was the lowering of my BP to near normal with meds, but I still need the meds too. The diet is vegan and completely eliminates all animal products and much of the vegetable oils. If you eat o lot of red meats try eliminating them from you diet for a week or so and see what happens.
The other problem I had was anxiety which really makes my BP head for the moon. Meds did not affect that either but the vegan diet seemed to help that too. Go figure!
I’ve been using it for about a month and my blood pressure keeps going up. My pharmacist said that it’s just a scam to get my money and doesn’t work, but neither does the DASH diet, increased exercise and pills. My body has it’s own ideas about where it wants my blood pressure.
My doctor prescribed Azor (5/20) and it reduced my blood pressure from 160 down to below 130. After a few weeks, I switched to a set of two generic medicines with lower cost for lowering blood pressure. After taking this set of two generic medicine for a few days, my blood pressure went back up to 160. So, I switch back to Azor (5/20) and my blood pressure comes down below 130 again.
The DASH diet works over time. I’ve been on DASH low sodium for 3 months in combination with meds and exercise. Just a few days ago I stopped the meds and am just using supplements to maintain safe BP. Also continuing exercise 7 days per week, minimum 30 minutes. Consult with a Naturopathic doc. They can get you back in control.
Try looking into 8 Constitution body type medicine. They show that there is a body type called Hepatonia that has a natural higher blood pressure than the other 7 body types. Those are usually the people who have been put on medication because the regular medical doctors do not know anything about it and assume everyone is the same.
With your blood pressure being borderline you should easily be able to get down to 120/80 without meds. Try the DASH diet and increase your aerobic exercise level. That should do it. I was 180/80 and am down to 110-120/65 in about 3 months. I used RESPERATE also but found the results mixed. It lowers BP almost immediately after use but the lowering effects were not sustained. In the event that doesn’t resolve it, you may want to try Lisinopril 20mg which worked well for me. Also recommend visiting a Naturopathic doc as they can get you off Rx drugs and can you on some effective supplements. I was off my Rx in less than a week.
I fell for this resperate thing, and diligent use proved of ZERO VALUE!
And of course their refund policy expires BEFORE the time they say will give results!
Save your money for something that works!
Actually, RESPeRATE has an 80% success rate and comes with a 60 day money back guarantee. If the device is properly and regularly used, then a person should see a reduction around the 3rd or 4th week. From there, the person has an extra 30 days to decide whether or not they want to keep the device.
We are confident that the RESPeRATE device works, and we have many users who swear by it. I am sorry you did not see the results you were looking for.
Well it might have 80% success if you picked the people! I have one and have used it for TWO years with no results. I am in the “Therapy” range and all doing it just like I’m supposed to.
There are more people on here that it DOES NOT work for than it does work for.
I can say it is relaxing and not bashing it but do not agree one bit with your stats and would love to see this published study.
Thank you for sharing this published data with all of us.

I have been using one for almost a year. It only lowers it for approx 1hr or so. IT then always goes back to original area of 160/90. It will lower blood pressure, but only for a short period of time. I do eat right and work out 4 times a week, and take many different natural supplements also. I would say deep breathing is a good priactice, but it dosen’t take a machine to accomplish what resperate does.
I did not find that Resperate brought the bp numbers down, but it did not make it worse either. How I have used it is to slow down my heart rate, which can go quite high in the middle of the night, driving, and stressful times. I find that I have learned to automatically notice my breathing and heart rate are too fast, or breathing is irregular, and to do the slow breathing that I learned with the program. I did not notice all that before I used the resperate device. That in itself made the purchase worthwhile. My opinion is that the device is pricey, but I would not have learned this self awareness otherwise. At least I can do something now about a high heart rate and irregular breathing.
I am so glad to read these comments. I was beginning to think the problem was me.
I have been using resperate for about 5 months and it has made no difference what so ever. I have used it very diligently along with B.P. reducing drugs. My B.P. started at 180/70 and it has stayed there stubbornly ever since. The only thing that has any affect is running, which I have done for many years. If I run for about 3miles my BP drops to about 120/65 immediately I stop and will stay in that range for 2 or 3 hours before gradually going back up to 180/70. Resperate has no impact at all.
In non-hypertensive patients BP goes up during exercised, comes down after exercise and (and this is important) remains low after exercise.
In hypertensive patients BP goes up during exercise, comes down after exercise and then creeps up to its previous high BP again.
180/70 is too high! Suggest to see a doctor specializing in sports medicine and nutrition.
You have been duped into believing your blood pressure is “extremely high” when it is actually in the normal range. What the AMA and drug companies have done is criminal!!
There are many, many ways of treating hypertension (which you actually do not have) and/or reducing blood pressure. These include diet (I removed all sugar, white flour, and alcohol), supplements, exercise, EECP, Resperate……..on and on!!
Honestly, we get just the WORST answers from this so-called “doctor”.
All the best to you!!
