Q: What is a normal decrease in high blood pressure numbers per week if I am working out and eating better? Currently 141/86.
A: It is impossible to know what reduction in blood pressure will occur on a weekly basis for any given individual who makes life style changes. It is well known that a regular exercise program and a healthy diet help with blood pressure control. You are encouraged to keep exercising and eating right even if you don’t see a lowering of your blood pressure.

I read that as you get older, it’s normal for your pressure to rise to about 140 for a systolic reading by age 60. Is that true? I’m 59 years old.
