Q: I’ve been taking medication to lower my Hypertension for many years. Actually I am using Losartan Potassium 100 mg and Hydrochlorthiazide for the last 3 yrs and lately I am suffering from painful ankles and legs. Sometimes it is hard for me to stand up. Do you think it is a side effect of any of these medications? At my job I have to be standing for 8 hrs +…. thank you.
A: It is possible your leg and ankle pain is related to your medication. Leg pain and joint pain have been reported as side effects from the combination of losartan and hydrochlorothiazide. Standing for 8 hours could also be a cause of your pain. You should consider wearing good support shoes and
stockings while at work. For a site I feel provides good information about the construction and fit off shoes go to HealthyFeetStore.com
The toxic nature of medications is always underplayed greatly by the medical establishment. Google the “negative side effects of Losartan” and the “negative side effects of hydrochlorothiazide” for the problems patients have encountered. It’s a real eye opener!
All the best!!
everything has its side effect, but when the advantage is higher than the disadvantage, then you have to ask yourself to make a decision!
I also have very painful ankle and foot pain in the
mornings, on two medications for blood pressure for
couple of years.
In all due respect, is this an answer from an actual medical doctor or By Admin? Who is source By Admin?
The questions are answered by Dr Rowena (a real doctor and person), and then the Admin (myself) updates the Dr Rowena page on LowerPressure.com.
So yes, an actual doctor is reading and answering your questions, but the content is posted on this web site by Admin.
I hope that clears it up. 🙂
I took hydrochlorothiazide for about a year. I kept getting dehidrayted and had a lot of leg pain and cramps. I went off of it and feel much better. It didn’t make much difference in my blood pressure anyway.
